John Bowden CPCU, CIC
	John started in the insurance business 26 years ago working in claims and underwriting. He joined an agency in Raleigh in the early 1970’s and formed his own agency, Bowden Insurance in 1981. In 1986, he merged his business with Durfey-Hoover Insurance to form Durfey-Hoover-Bowden. John is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He is past president of The Independent Insurance Agents of Raleigh and is a member of the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of CPCU.

Paul Hoover III CPCU, CIC, ARM
	Paul is a native of Raleigh. After working 2 years for the State Employees Credit Union, he joined the family owned agency, Durfey-Hoover Insurance, in 1974. Over the years, he has been active in insurance education; teaching classes in insurance for the insurance associations and for Triangle Insurance Institute. Paul is a graduate of the University of Virginia. Active in civic affairs, he is past president of the Raleigh Jaycees and the Kiwanis Club of Raleigh. He is currently the Vice President for Hilltop Home for Retarded Children and the Raleigh Vocational Center.

Agents: Paul Hoover IV, CIC   Paul joined the agency in 2001 after spending two years working for the State Employees Credit Union. He is the fourth generation of his family to work in the agency and works with both commercial and personal lines of insurance. Paul is a graduate of Furman University. He is currently an active member of the Board of Directors for the Raleigh Jaycees. He is a CIC and is actively pursuing the CPCU designation. He previously worked as a claims representative with Auto Owners Insurance Company for two years. In addition to handling the phones, she also serves as the office receptionist. Amanda provides administrative support for both our personal and commercial product lines. Ann Lauer - (919) 790-6415 x25 alauer@dhbins.com Ann has been with the agency longer that any other employee. She worked with John Bowden prior to the 1986 merger of the agencies. In addition to being the office manager, Ann handles the accounting and computers for the agency. Tracy O’Berry - (919) 790-6415 x22 toberry@dhbins.com Tracy has worked in the insurance business since 1990. She is knowledgeable in both commercial and personal insurance. Tracy works wherever she is needed; filling in for others who might be out or handling special projects. She joined our agency as a personal lines Customer Service Representative in 1998. Susan Whittington - (919) 790-6415 x29 susanw@dhbins.com Susan worked as a company underwriter and as an agency customer service representative before coming to Durfey-Hoover-Bowden in 1996 as a personal lines Customer Service Representative. Commercial: Patty Drewnowski, CIC- (919) 790-6415 x27 patty@dhbins.com Patty worked on both the company and agency sides of the insurance business in Utica, New York before moving to Raleigh in 1996. She is Paul Hoover’s commercial lines support person. Julie Hamaker, CISR- (919) 790-6415 x23 julieh@dhbins.com Julie started in the insurance business in 1992 when she came to our agency as a receptionist. She has worked in both personal and commercial insurance and currently works as John Bowden’s commercial lines support person.
